Cabana LIMON is one of six private accommodations in the ecologically-conscious, all-inclusive Camaroncito EcoResort & Beach on the Caribbean coast of Panama. It is the second nearest to the social area.

Our resort is set in the middle of a 600 meter C shaped soft sand beach cove with 16 acres of gently cared for rainforest behind it. Our four wooden cabanas are nestled amid the dappled shade of coconut and mangrove trees, each with a lovely view of the beach and ocean to the front, and the lush rainforest behind. The two treehouses (available in March) are 20 meters further back at the top of a rise, with stunning views of the ocean to the front and the rainforest all around.

Our social area, restaurant and bar are right on the beach. The owner's permanent home and sustainable food farm are further back on the property.

Camaroncito EcoResort includes hiking trails, river cascades, wildlife viewing platforms and more species of flora and fauna than you even knew existed, yet it is only four hours by car then boat, or 30 minutes by helicopter, northwest from Panama City.

IMPORTANT: We are in a remote location. A fascinating 160km drive from Panama City will bring you to our parking area in Miguel de la Borda, then the last 30 km is by boat. We offer free parking for your car. If you will also need to park your boat trailer/jet ski trailer, there is a one time $20 charge. We have a river entrance to the ocean for secure anchorage for jet skis or small boats. A larger boat can anchor offshore 30-40m.

ALL OTHER TRANSPORT options must be booked as an ADD-ON option while booking your cabana or treehouse. Please understand that the significant rise in gas prices have had a big impact on our transportation prices. All prices are PER PERSON and based on 2 or more people, and do not include 7% government tax ... 1) Our boat transport is $100 round trip per person. 2) Our chauffeured car from Panama City + our boat is $200 round trip per person. 3) Skyride helicopter from Allbrook airport to our helicopter landing pad is $1600 roundtrip. 4) One way helicopter + one way car/boat is $1000.

Camaroncito is the creation of Ernesto & Sarah, who are beach bums, nature enthusiasts, foodies, salsa dancers and avid travelers. Our permanent home is on the property, and we personally ensure the delight of our guests, together with our trained team of locals.

Our all-inclusive model ensures you are wined and dined and entertained (or relaxed) to your heart's content. We offer an escape from modern life, a gift of reconnection with nature and each other, and an opportunity to revel in a night sky unaffected by man made light.

Most of our resort is built with local materials and labor, though we did import our solar power, satellite communications, water sterilization, modern bathrooms, kitchen appliances and karaoke system.

The bulk of our food and drink is sourced and prepared locally, though the bar and spice-rack are quite international. We bake our own bread, press our own nut milk, and make our own fermented fruit juices and frozen treats. We are building a self sufficient food forest and aquaponics farm on site.

From the moment you book, we strive to ensure your satisfaction with a detailed welcome guide, including directions, what to bring/not bring, and seasonal norms. And we respond to all inquiries within hours, not days.

You can even pre-order your preferred menus, activities, special tours, spa services or entertainment. Feel confident that you can bring just a small backpack with swimsuit, water sandals, a shade hat, and light weight clothing and you will never want for anything. We even provide rubber boots for you to use hiking the rainforest or horseback riding, and we launder guest clothes at no charge.

Our 600 meter private soft sand beach cove is perfect for lounging in the sun, playing in the waves, or building bonfires! Boogie boards, snorkel gear, lounge chairs, bamboo mats and oversized turkish towels are free to use.

The cabanas and treehouses are thoughtfully equipped with roofed decks, queen beds, quality linens, private hot water bathrooms, solar lights/fans/usb charging, biodegradable toiletries, stocked fridge and coffee service, headlights, umbrellas, daily housekeeping and free laundry service.

Destress with a daily yoga class, or burn off steam with a beach volleyball game. Wander our marked rainforest trails, or climb our river cascades. Challenge your birding skills, identify the equatorial constellations, or just enjoy the ocean breezes from a hammock with an icy cocktail in an insulated cup.

We want you to feel as if you are visiting close friends. Every guest tells us they are far more impressed by our location, facilities, food and service than they even imagined was possible, despite the amazing photos, videos, and reviews they assessed in choosing us. Please come and be part of the Camaroncito family!

Camaroncito is on Panama's Central Caribbean Coast, locally called "Costa Abajo", which is 30 km West of Miguel de la Borda, and 3 km East of Cocle del Norte. During normal traffic times and weather, it is a bit more than three hours total travel time from Panama City via car then boat.

To get to us ...

IF DRIVING YOUR OWN CAR THEN RIDING IN OUR BOAT ... From Panama City, drive North one hour to cross the new Atlantic Bridge over the Panama Canal. Veer West/left and drive another 1.5 hours to Miguel de la Borda. Most of the road is newly paved, and it is a lovely drive through lush rainforest, open cattle pasture and along scenic ocean views. There are a variety of small local restaurants along the way we can recommend.

You will park in the Camaroncito secure parking area, then enjoy an exhilarating 1 hour ride West along the coastline in our 30 foot open boat equipped with comfortable benches, large waterproof boxes for luggage, and quality life preservers. Many guests tells us the boat ride is one of the special memories from their visit to us.

The helicopter ride is pricy, but it is breathtakingly spectacular!!! It is a once in a lifetime experience to see both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, the Panama Canal, Panama City, and gorgeous landscapes in less than 30 minutes!!!

REMEMBER ... all transport options besides your own car and boat must be booked and paid for on our website.

About host

Sarah Bajc

We, Ernesto and Sarah, are living our dream. We are avid travelers, beach bums, foodies, and salsa dancers. Sarah loves to garden, cook and entertain, and had prior lives as a business executive and teacher. Ernesto can fix or make anything, and is always the life of the party. Ernesto grew up in Panama Viejo (Old Panama), then studied architectural drafting in Cuba!

Between us we have four adult children, eight siblings, and many dear friends around the world, all of whom visit regularly. We love to share our escape from modern life. We also care for our community, not only by treating the environment and our workers with care and respect, but also by contributing to economic development in our area.

The property was purchased in 2017, started hosting guests in 2018, and became a legal business in 2021 offering "glamping" for small groups. The new resort opens in January 2023. Most of the rainforest has been left untouched except for winding hiking trails. We selectively cleared only for buildings and food production.

We enjoy feeling at one with nature, so our buildings and most furniture are rustic, hand crafted from local wood. There are lots of screened windows and ceiling fans for constant comfort. We hope you will find the absence of plastic and glitz refreshing.

Still, we enjoy modern conveniences, so even our satellite broadband and awesome karaoke systems are solar powered. We want you to feel at home, only better, because we do all the work! Unless, of course, you ask to help in the kitchen to learn how to make local cuisine, or you want to gather fresh eggs for breakfast, or learn how to open a coconut with a machete.

So, come be mesmerized by the sounds of the rainforest and the ocean surf at the same time! Be enchanted by the crystal clear stars unaffected by light pollution. Be entranced by the shadows cast by a full moon through the coconut palm trees. Come be a part of our Camaroncito Family!!!
